Why Hera’s Circle?
-
For too long, disordered eating has been framed as a "young women’s issue." Yet, research shows that eating disorders in midlife are not only real but on the rise. Women over 45 now account for a quarter of all eating disorder admissions, yet remain underrepresented in treatment, research and social awareness.
-
Disordered eating doesn’t simply disappear with age. It transforms—woven into shifting relationships, evolving roles, and the silent grief of life’s transitions. This space is not just about healing from an eating disorder; it’s about reclaiming joy, connection, and self-trust at every stage of life.
FAQ
-
No. Women in Hera’s Circle may never have been diagnosed but have spent years struggling with food, body image, or self-worth. Whether you’ve wrestled silently or have been through past treatment, you are welcome here.
-
One weekly group therapy session is mandatory. All additional 1:1 therapy, mentorship, workshops and events are voluntary to meet the level of commitment and need that works for you. Remember, healing is not selfish. Women give so much through their lives—to family, friends, career, community—now, you deserve to receive.
-
That’s understandable to feel nervous about joining a new social circle. Many of our members have spent years feeling alone in their struggles. But here, you will find only warmth, kindness and shared understanding. You are not alone.

It is never too late to change. New understanding of neuroplasticity recognises the power of the mind to grow, adapt and evolve throughout the entirety of our lives. Women find recovery even after decades of struggle with disordered eating.
