Why Ianthe Houses?

  • longer term programs have been shown to be more effective than shorter term (under 3 months), favouring residential support.

  • peer connection is key – research shows that lived-experience, peer-supported recovery communities foster greater accountability, improves wellbeing and quality of life,  and long-term recovery outcomes.

  • Home-based treatment for eating disorders has been demonstrated to be as effective and less expensive alternative to inpatient or traditional residential care, allowing for practical, daily reinforcement of recovery habits.

  • Ianthe Houses are not clinical facilities — they are structured, recovery-focused homes where you live alongside others in recovery while maintaining independence.

  • yes, all residents must be actively engaged in a structured recovery program, which include Recovery Circles and / or 1:1 therapy.

  • An Ianthe House becomes your home. Minimum stay is 3 months, but most residents stay 12 months or longer.
